JCPS EER (Explore, Enrich, Research) based at Southwest School has teamed up with JC PEER (Parent EER Group) and the Jefferson City Human Relations Commission to host a fundraiser to fill backpacks for rising kindergarteners who also attend Southwest School.

This event will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Southwest Cafeteria. We will offer two ticketed dining times, 5:30pm and 6:45pm. At this meal, our EER students will welcome attendees, serve food, and bus tables.

The Human Relations Commission, with the help of Hy-Vee, has donated a catered meal to be served by these students. Additionally, area businesses have donated some wonderful items and opportunities for a raffle. All tickets purchased prior to this event will receive one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be sold at the event.

All tickets sales and tips these students earn will purchase school supplies to fill backpacks for our 40 preschool students at Southwest who will be moving on to kindergarten in the fall. Each backpack full of supplies costs approximately $52 a student.

At their promotion ceremony, all preschool students will receive letters of encouragement from their friends at EER and a certificate to pick up their backpack in August to be ready to start kindergarten!

JC HRC and JC PEER are both 501(c)(3) so all donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your support of this collaborative effort to help young students in our community!
