Capitol City Cinema Ceased Operations June 30, 2026

​After many years of bringing independent, documentary, foreign, and specialty film programming to Jefferson City, Capitol City Cinema will cease operations effective June 30, 2026.

This decision was not made lightly. We are incredibly proud of the Cinema’s history, including more than 250 films and numerous specialty programs, events, and community partnerships over the years.

Our final screenings will take place June 25, 26, and 27, with Stop! That! Train! planned as a lighthearted final sendoff.

To our patrons, vendors, distributors, donors, volunteers, board members, and
community partners: thank you. Capitol City Cinema existed because of your support, belief, and participation.

We are grateful for the stories shared, the conversations started, and the community created through film.
