Capitol City Cinema and Jefferson City Arts Foundation are teaming up to host virtual screenwriting and filmmaking workshops! Each class will be 5-7 classes in length and aimed toward young adults & adults interested in screenwriting and filmmaking. The first class will be the screenwriting class that will be held in late-August/September. Please use this form to pre-register. Pre-registration will be open until August 15, 2020. 

Each class includes a $100 registration fee. Classes will take place virtually via a free videoconference platform. Outcomes of each class include the knowledge and skills of screenwriting/filmmaking and a short script and/or short film.

The instructor, Christopher Metz, is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker with over 20 years of experience writing, directing and producing film and video. Chris has his BFA in cinema and comparative literature from the University of Iowa and his MFA in Drama with an emphasis on film and video production at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016. He has experience in many different modes of production such as client-based production, live event and live sports, documentary, screenwriting and narrative production, and more. He is currently teaching film and video production & screenwriting at UMKC.
